Simplicity 2446 Blue Jacket

  1. On your last photo, is that showing the collar attached to the jacket? If so, then it looks like your collar is wider than mine but could be an optical illusion.

I've been trying to figure out the best way to assemble this jacket because I find the simplicity directions very confusing. I posed the question on 'ask Chris'. he directed me to your site. His suggestion was this: sew up that dart that runs down from the collar area first (unlike the directions) then sew the entire collar together (upper and lower) - then attach the collar to the jacket body. Add the facings.

that makes much more sense than the simplicity directions. I'm not quite sure the best way to sew the collar sections together. 5/8" s/a and match the top, let the sides fall where they will, then flip right side out and attach? The facings should cover the area at the end of the collar?

any suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated.

    thank you,
